Des Alpes Luzern

We had a fabulous dinner in the hotel's restaurant, with a nice wine selection, and the beds were comfortable with two good pillows. The room was beautiful, and the bathroom was small but functional and clean. It could use hair conditioner, though. The heated towel rail was especially welcome in the December cold. The hotel is right by the bridge, and you can open the windows for fresh air. The wooden floors mean you may hear a little noise from above. There’s only one elevator, which can be annoying, but it does encourage you to use the stairs. There’s also a safe and a bar fridge, though ours was empty and could have used a few things. Be aware the breakfast vouchers don't cover everything, including coffee and juice.

Our room was clean, modern, and quiet, and we'd happily return and recommend it to friends. The service was fantastic across the board, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant servers. Everyone seemed to go out of their way to be kind and helpful. It was also nice to see management acknowledging customers with a smile.

The room was spacious and comfortable for our two-night stay, and we even got a New Year's gift as a lovely surprise. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were welcoming throughout. Breakfast was à la carte, paid for with credits given to us at check-in. It was a convenient, flexible setup. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend the hotel.

We came to Lucerne by accident during the annual carnival and had an absolute blast. Staying right in the Old Town made it easy to walk to the main sights, including Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. Our room's view of Chapel Bridge was lovely at sunrise and sunset. Breakfast downstairs was included with our stay, and both the food and service were great. Everyone treated us warmly. We had a great time at Hotel Des Alpes and will definitely come back next time we're in Lucerne.
