Acquarello Swiss Quality Hotel

We had a great time at acquarello. Our room was ready before check-in, and the staff were kind and helpful. It’s small, but has what you need, including a little fridge. We heard some outside noise on Saturday, though it was fairly moderate. The hotel is right in the city centre and close to the train station. Breakfast was really good, with sweet and savoury choices, fresh fruit, juices, and plenty more. The Ticino ticket was included too, so it felt worth it. The gym was well equipped, and lockers are available for luggage for 2chf. I’d come back when I get the chance, and would suggest it for a 1-2 night stay.

The central location is the best part, and the price is good for what you get. Breakfast was varied and good, and the staff were friendly. My room on the fifth floor was small but modern, with a comfortable bed. The funicular runs until 11:30pm, though, and made that room quite noisy. Other rooms may be quieter, but if you’re a light sleeper, I’d go somewhere else.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel and room were very clean. Breakfast had a good range of options. When we checked in, the woman noticed my mom’s special birthday was the next day, wished her a happy birthday, and left a bottle of Prosecco in the room with a lovely note. It’s very conveniently placed for exploring the city and catching public transport elsewhere, with lots of restaurants nearby. We’d happily stay again and recommend it.

Really good value, right in central Lugano and just a three-minute walk from the lake.
