Best Western Hotel Bellevue Au Lac

The room was dirty, even though I’d booked a premium Junior Suite. They didn’t seem to care about making sure it was clean. The staff were extremely rude and hostile, and I felt really uncomfortable there.

The lake walks in the shade were charming and unforgettable, and I enjoyed the rare side view of the lake from my decent-sized balcony. The hotel is close to everything, but still quiet and convenient, with friendly staff and a very reasonable price. I’d stay again. The room, bathroom, and shower were on the small side and could use an update. That was fine for me traveling alone, though it might bother someone else.

The staff were welcoming, and the price felt very reasonable. My room had plenty of space to move around and relax, and the hotel itself was beautiful. There was a great variety of food, and I found it delicious. A really enjoyable stay, and I’d recommend it if you want somewhere relaxing without spending too much.

After a long day, I arrived at what must be the worst value hotel in Switzerland. There was only one employee working, handling luggage, check-ins, and the parking garage. The spaces in front were marked “reserved,” there was no valet service, and guests couldn’t park on their own either. The employee had to unlock the garage and help me park because the spaces were so tiny. I’d asked for adjoining rooms. They weren’t adjoining, or even close to each other. My room was small, old, badly in need of updating, and had no view. The shower was tiny and its door was broken. The internet password on the key didn’t work, so the same employee came up twice around midnight to try other passwords. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told he was at home relaxing. I asked to call him and was told no. He wouldn’t arrive until after 10 a.m., so he wouldn’t be at the hotel during my stay. Avoid this rip-off at all costs.
