Boutique Apartment 10

We spent three nights here in early June 2023. Happy Rentals manages the apartment, with access through a lockbox and support by email or phone. It was very clean and seemed recently renovated, perhaps in the last 12-24 months. There’s a dining table for six, a couch, and a large flat-screen TV in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed: fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, Nespresso machine, kettle, iron and board, vacuum, dishes, and utensils. The main bedroom had a comfortable queen bed, drawers, and a large wardrobe with spare pillows and blankets. The second bedroom had two single beds and another big wardrobe with extras. Those mattresses were thin and only okay for young kids, not teens or adults. The bathroom was lovely, with a large rainfall shower, toilet, and bidet. The motorized blinds in the windows and doors were a nice touch for privacy and security, and kept the rooms cool and dark when closed. The apartment door was extremely secure, with a metal frame and a main lock with six cylinders. It gave us real peace of mind. I’d highly recommend the apartment and would definitely stay again, though Happy Rentals could improve a few things. We got one dishwasher tablet, a small sponge, and a small bottle of dish soap. With dinnerware for only four people for three days, I’d expect at least one tablet per day, especially since a modern dishwasher uses less water than washing by hand. There was one garbage bag in the bin and no replacement. The kitchen had only four coffee pods, creamers, and sugar packets, which I’d expect per day, and no salt or pepper. Small bags are hard to find, so salt and pepper shakers should be supplied and refilled for each rental. The pillows were also very poor, thin and lumpy, like loose cotton balls or cushion filling.

The location was great.

It’s been renovated nicely and is very central, with a price that fits the location and the town. But there are some avoidable problems: no light at all in the second bathroom, a French window that doesn’t close properly, and an intercom that doesn’t work. There are very few supplies, just two dishwasher tablets and not even one coffee capsule. Those unnecessary cutbacks don’t fit the price or what I expected.
