Castagnola Lugano in Lugano

The hospitality was outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent. In probably the nicest neighborhood in Lugano, it felt more like visiting family than staying at a typical hotel. Highly recommended!

The family takes great care of this place and pays attention to both practical details and decoration. It’s in a relaxed area, very close to the city center, and has a real at-home feel. Everything smelled wonderful, thanks to the spotless space and the flowering plants around the room. Even the soaps were special, and the linens, bathrobe, and towels were all high quality. There are several breakfast options, and you could easily stay full until dinner. I highly recommend this accommodation.

The guest house is charming, lovely, and in a beautiful spot close to the city, hiking trails, and boat taxis. The rooms are large and inviting, with a wonderfully homelike feel, and the bathrooms are great. Christina is so welcoming, makes amazing breakfasts, and enjoys getting to know her guests. My husband and I thought it was well worth the price and would definitely stay again.

Our stay was lovely and magical, and even a year later I can still taste those incredible fresh, warm croissants. Not a detail was overlooked. There’s no air conditioning, but it rarely gets hot enough to need more than an open window and the fans provided. The hosts were kind and friendly while respecting our space and privacy, and made sure we knew how to reach them if we needed anything. They knew the area well and gave fantastic recommendations for transport, restaurants, and things to see and do. My favorite meal during my two-month stay in Switzerland was at one of their recommended restaurants, and it was perfect. And those croissants! Best I’ve ever had.
