Lugano Lago 0 Ground Floor

The view was the only good part, so that earns the extra star. We were meant to stay a week but left after one night. I wanted to go home first thing in the morning, and cried for half the night. Getting into the building with small children was frightening. There's no parking and no proper path from the road to the entrance, just one small step, so we had to take turns running across a very busy road with the kids. Inside was dark, dirty and scary. There was broken glass on the stairs, the plants were dying, and there was no light, so you'd need your own torch to see. The building also looked nothing like the pictures, and neither did the flat, apart from the view. The beds were all broken, and we worried they'd collapse with the children on them. The sofa was stained and smelled odd. Two of the four radiators didn't work, and the bathroom was freezing, whether or not it had a heater. The dining table shown in the photos was really a folding table with a piece of wood taped on; it bent when touched, and everything seemed taped together with a sticker peeling off the side. There was no kettle or toaster, and the coffee machine barely worked, so we boiled water in a pot. We kept the kids away from the balcony because the window shutters were hanging loose and wouldn't close properly. Of the two TVs, only one worked. The trains passed right beside the windows and were extremely loud. I wouldn't pay to stay there another night, or stay even if I were paid.
