Hotel Kreuz Malters

The restaurant's Swiss sausage and cheese salad was full of flavor, though the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Breakfast was simple and fresh, with local breads and cheeses, and the free Wi-Fi was handy. Hotel Restaurant Kreuz Malters is family-run, and the staff were warm and friendly, with personal service and useful tips. My single room was clean, spacious, and had air conditioning. I left the window open at night, but the nearby church bell didn't bother me. Earplugs were provided just in case. The hotel is a 2-5 minute walk from Malters train station, and the train to Luzern's city centre takes 7-10 minutes. I had a delightful two-night stay and found it cozy and good value.

The restaurant has a nice Swiss-style look, and the food was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, too. It's a great place to stay, with the train station within walking distance and Luzern city just 11 minutes away. Highly recommended!

The only thing I wasn't happy about was paying 9.- for 1.5litres of tap water. That felt a bit pricey given what we'd already spent to eat and stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly and provided great service. Our room was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. They were very welcoming to children. The restaurant food was good, as was breakfast. Thank you.

This morning at the breakfast buffet was awful. I had two croissants on my plate and asked for another paper serviette because mine was already grimy and well used. A woman, who I assume was one of the owners, decided I was trying to take the croissants out of the buffet and lectured me that food couldn't be taken away. I said they were for me to eat, but she pointed to the two on my plate and said I might put them in my bag or pockets. Really?????? I work in hospitality myself and know what service means. That was extremely rude, and in my opinion completely racist. I don't know why she assumed I was taking food out. If I can afford to stay at the hotel, I can afford to buy a croissant. I'd sue the hotel if there were any way to do that, and I would never recommend the place to anyone. I had overlooked the hotel's shabby condition, but I won't tolerate this discrimination.
