Martigny Boutique Hotel

A modern, simple, clean and inexpensive hotel. One afternoon, staff came into the room without knocking, even though it had already been cleaned. A few mornings there was no hot water, just lukewarm, which is completely unacceptable.

The staff are very nice, but summer was uncomfortable. The hotel is proud of its eco certificate, and as a result the central air conditioning is switched off. The mobile units provided for "sensitive" guests didn't cool the room down. Sion can get above 30°C in summer, so I guess management needs the power for all those essential mini fridges...

After a long drive from the Pyrenees in France, we got a great two-night rest at Martigny Boutique-Hôtel. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the friendly staff spoke decent English. Our clean, roomy and comfortable room had plenty of storage and a great shower. The location is near the border of three countries and close to the Alps and ski resorts. We booked the art package without knowing exactly what it covered, and were pleasantly surprised to get free entrance to the art museum, complimentary hot breakfast and a welcome tasting of local wine. Free on-site parking and EV charging were handy too. The room temperature couldn't be adjusted with the control panel, so it got quite hot during the day, though opening the window cooled it down at night. We'd consider coming back if we're in the area again.

Dinner and breakfast were easily the best meals we had on the tour, with service to match. The rooms were comfortable, and the whole hotel was exceptionally clean. Its location and views didn't quite measure up to some of the more scenic stops along the TMB, but the dining made up for that. The hotel's commitment to inclusion also stood out. They're an equal opportunity employer and proudly employ many people with disabilities. It's inspiring to see a business lead by example and make a real social impact.
