Hotel Dakota

The room and breakfast weren't worth what we paid, about $400 USD for one night. The sheets felt like sandpaper, the pillows were very thin, and my friend found a long hair on her side of the bed. The shower was tiny, with a flimsy curtain, and a shelf above the sink made it hard to brush your teeth. Breakfast wasn't much to write home about either, and we left as soon as we'd eaten. What disappointed us most was the cancellation issue. I tried to cancel within minutes of booking, after finding out that several places we planned to visit in town would be closed during our trip. Our travel agency also asked to cancel weeks ahead, but management refused. The agency was surprised, since they usually manage cancellations with that much notice. My friend and I stayed in five hotels in Switzerland, and we'd recommend the other four. I wouldn't recommend this one. I loved Switzerland and plan to return within two years, but I'll skip this hotel.

The aviation-themed interior was a fun touch, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Breakfast was spectacular too. There was no air conditioning, as is common in Swiss hotels, but our room had a powerful cooling tower fan that worked for us. We could also open the windows to cool things down overnight.

The breakfast was amazing. The chef made a simple omelet really well, and I had a great experience.

It's a short walk from the train station, with a big grocery store nearby. Our room had a coffee maker and a smart TV for Netflix. It was clean, the staff were nice, and they provided hair conditioner and lotion. Breakfast was excellent. There's no A/C, as is typical in Switzerland, but it was cool at night when we stayed, so that wasn't a problem.
