Serviced Apartments Wallis

We had some lovely evenings on the balcony, thanks to the fantastic view from our apartment higher up in town. It was nice to be offline for a couple of days since our building had no Wi-Fi. The kitchen was basic, and the bed could have been more comfortable. When we arrived, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned because of a scheduling mistake by the cleaning team, but they took care of it immediately after we reported it.

The saltwater pool is lovely, and breakfast had lots of variety. We had a wonderful weekend and hope to come back as soon as we can. The hotel is very close to the Aletsch Glacier cable car. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We booked an apartment with our 2-year-old son, and I really appreciated that they made up an open sofa bed for him.

The apartments are in terrible shape, very old and shabby, with decor that made me feel like I was at my great-grandmother’s house. This hotel is linked to « appartements Wallis », but there’s no reception, and the apartment management is badly organized. At the end, I didn’t know where to return the keys, so I handed them to a cleaner. The hotel then accused me of not paying the tourist tax, though no information about it had been given. I had to pay by IBAN, which cost me another 20 euros for an international transfer of just 7 euros. After that, they made defamatory remarks, saying I hadn’t paid. It felt like a real scam. Stay away! The service was appalling. This was and will remain a big dark spot in our trip, since every other hotel or travel service we used was much, much better.

What a huge disappointment. I got a voucher for an experience and chose this hotel, but the room we were given was a studio with fold-out beds kept in a closet, not the 4-star hotel described. We were handed a key to a room in the garden. Never again.
