Maya Boutique was a lovely place to visit, with polished facilities and very professional staff. It was one of the few spots in the village where people spoke English. I didn’t stay overnight, but came for a massage. The masseuse was very nice and courteous, though I was a little disappointed: she should have listened to my friend, who had a massage the day before. We both would have preferred something deeper, more like deep tissue. The menu only offers hot stone and “classical,” which is a very light Swedish-style touch. The hotel is in picturesque Max.

We’ve only been here two days, but we’re already happy and I think we’ll be sad to go. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and modern, with local wood and hay bales used for insulation. It’s an eco-friendly hotel in a very peaceful spot, and I was surprised to learn the area is known for vineyards. The hosts are incredibly gracious, and the view from up here is stunning.

The room was nicely decorated and had its own Nespresso machine, and the menu was great. Service was friendly too. This beautiful boutique hotel is insulated with straw, but there’s no straw or dust in the rooms, so no worries. The little sauna has a spectacular bay window looking out over the valley, and there’s a hot tub as well.

Nax is a small, genuine village with lots of hiking possibilities. This beautiful boutique hotel in the Swiss Alps is especially memorable for the unforgettable hospitality from Louis and Lisa.
