Les Etagnes 2est Haute-nendaz

We had a wonderful week in La vie en rose. The house itself was beautiful, with a great view, nice rooms, a kitchen and sauna, and good access to the ski resort. But sorting out the deposit afterwards was a headache. Two pans were thrown away because they were supposedly dirty and apparently couldn’t be cleaned. Nobody told us about this after checkout. It took many calls and emails to get part of the deposit back, nearly two months after our holiday. I’d suggest checking the house with the staff at checkout and getting the deposit returned in person on-site.

The owners and staff were friendly and helpful, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. We spent six nights here to make the most of the Vail epic pass. The rooms were great, breakfast set us up for the day, and after skiing there was a good après spot and sauna. A great restaurant rounded off the evenings.

Staying at Les Etagnes was a delight. We were in the Chevreuil appartement, which was incredibly spacious and comfortable, about a five-minute walk from the hotel and main telecabine. You can leave your skis and boots in the hotel locker room, which is handy. Onno was charming from our first contact to the last, and really caring and helpful throughout. We chose the "demi-pension" option, with breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant, and it was amazing value for money. The restaurant waitresses were charming and very professional too. If you’re planning to ski in Nendaz, that’s the place to go!

There’s plenty of seating, though it gets busy fast because it’s popular. In 2019 the après-ski bar was bigger than before, with 0.5l beer from 7.50, lots of other drinks, and Dutch snacks. The music is modern, mixing traditional and newer styles. Great après-ski and restaurant.
