Hotel aarau-WEST

The staff were kind and patient with non-native speakers, and every question got a polite answer, however silly it might have seemed. Reception was staffed around the clock, and there was complimentary bottled water, tea, and coffee in the lobby at any hour. I only wished there were a kettle in the room. My room was plain and a bit dated, with one pillow and a single duvet on a huge bed. It had just one hand towel and one body towel, but the basics worked. The room and bathroom were clean and cleaned daily. The sheets were clean too, though very worn and really should be replaced. The restaurant served excellent food in generous portions. The tram stop was a 4-5 minute walk away, and Aarau was only a short tram ride. I'd stay again.

There was a good breakfast selection, though vegetarian choices were mostly cereal and toast. The property was well maintained, with clean, tidy rooms that were spacious and had balconies. It sits by a golf club, and the staff were cheerful and very helpful. Free water bottles were available to take from the reception lobby throughout the day.

Putting together a seminar for more than 100 people at a different venue meant lots of details and last-minute changes. The crew handled it all so well, always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and breakfast had a rich variety. I can only recommend the hotel and its crew.

At 229 Swiss Franc for two people, breakfast included, this felt terribly overpriced. The room was spartan and had cheap furniture, with no fridge, no bedside tables, and no basic extras like tissues or a bottle of water. There's no restaurant or bar in the hotel, so you have to cross over to the golf club. Even there, the atmosphere wasn't great, and the bar shuts at 22.00h. Sorry, we won't be coming back.
