Haus der Schwalbe

The neglected condition of the Schwalbe building has become hard to ignore. It needs major renovation, and it no longer feels lovingly maintained. The broken shower cubicle, sagging mattresses, and missing hairdryer adapters only added to the problems. I've stayed here regularly for years and used to overlook smaller issues. Now there's been a steep price increase, plus a charge for final cleaning. Yet when we arrived, the previous guests' rubbish was still in the apartment, wilted flowers were spread over the dining table, soap scum on the shower walls was thick enough to draw in, and there was moldy dishwater in the milk jug. Cleaning problems can happen, but not even answering complaints is unacceptable. I'll look for somewhere else to stay and sadly can't recommend this place anymore.
