The setting is stunning, and the blue sky and magnificent view at lunchtime were a real treat. Still, the experience was disappointing, and the prices felt hard to justify. The still water, basically filtered tap water, cost 9CHF. The Laurent-Perrier was a small pour for 24CHF, not properly chilled and already flat. At 48CHF, the lobster roll was especially poor: dry brioche, hardly any lobster, and no proper seasoning. The Club Sandwich, supposedly a major “incontournable”, came with industrial duck, no seasoning, and chips that may have been homemade but seemed to have been refried several times. Even the 15CHF glass of Pinot Gris was served warm and cost more than a whole bottle at a wine store. The atmosphere also felt too formal and cold, more like a cathedral than a welcoming alpine meeting place. It’s a shame, because this leisure hotel has a lot of potential. Management should rethink the prices and make the place more relaxed and convivial. With fairer prices and a warmer feel, it could be Villars’ natural gathering spot instead of seeming deserted. You can’t help wondering whether management prefers having more staff than guests. A beautiful location, but the experience didn’t live up to it.

The service at Villars Palace Hotel was warm, attentive, and flawless, and the views from the pool and balcony over snow-capped peaks were jaw-dropping. Getting to the slopes is easy: just take the train for a few minutes. After skiing, you can unwind with fondue or a spa session. A dreamy mountain escape for adventure or relaxation.

The modern rooms have stunning mountain views, and getting there from Geneva Airport by train is easy. For skiing, the private locker is just a one-minute walk from the train to the pistes. After the slopes, the heated outdoor pool, spa, sauna, and hammam are great for relaxing. The food at 1913 is delicious, and the bar is stylish. A comfortable, luxurious alpine stay with plenty of adventure. Highly recommend!

The view was nice, but there was live music at the village place (chalet place) every day from about 4pm to 7pm, and it was noisy. My room was tiny, especially the bathroom, the smallest I’ve ever seen. There was no coffee machine in the room, which was disappointing. Despite emailing the reservation department, including Irina, my room wasn’t ready when I arrived. I waited an hour in the lobby bar by reception, with no explanation or solution offered. It was off season and the hotel was nearly empty, with nobody in the breakfast room the next morning. Plenty of other rooms were ready, but they didn’t want to be nice to Leaders Club Members (LHW) like me, even though I’d clearly explained this by email to the reservation department. Reception staff were polite but not friendly, and offered no solution. It isn’t worth the price. I’ve tried other 4* hotels in Villars that are better. This is a good 4* hotel, but definitely not a palace.

The spa and pool area were lovely, and I really enjoyed the gym too. The beds were so comfortable, and the staff were friendly, highly qualified, and provided impeccable service. The view is phenomenal, the whole place feels like a dream from a movie. I loved staying here and want to come back as soon as I can, especially for the French toast!
