Hotel Edelweiss

Hotel Edelweiss was clean and comfortable, and the food was good with generous portions. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced. The staff were lovely, warm, and helpful throughout. La Fouly itself has very little, so don’t expect many local amenities. The main disappointment was the owners’ or managers’ manner. They came across as unfriendly and sometimes downright rude, which was a sharp contrast with the welcoming rest of the staff.

We had a private room for our group of three while stopping here on the Tour du Mont Blanc. The bathrooms were clean, the showers hot, and the lobby and dining room lovely. Out back, there were amazing glacier views, a grassy area, and lawn chairs. Dinner was good, and La Fouly was a cute little town to explore, with a grocery store and a few shops.

The beds in the dorms were nicely spaced, and there weren’t too many of them. It was a welcome change from the mass dorms at other places on the trail. The hot shower felt great after a long hike. The staff were pleasant enough, though I barely had to interact with them.

The woman at check-in was so friendly and lovely. The food was very good, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we had on the trip. There’s a good grocery store down the street for restocking supplies and snacks. A great place to stay along the TMB, highly recommended.
