Breakfast was a real treat, with muesli, yogurt, juice, hot drinks and pastries. We also found out they sell excellent Swiss ice cream, with generous portions and plenty of flavors. It costs a lot, but ask for it because it isn't advertised well. Dinner was filling, with salad, rice and chili con carne, though nothing special, and the tables felt cramped when full. Our private room had a huge bed, a sink and a shared balcony, and felt wonderfully luxurious. There were several outlets and the WiFi was free and worked fine. The toilets were very clean, and the showers had unlimited hot water and soap. Hooks for clothes inside the shower stalls would help. We didn't see laundry facilities, though we didn't ask. Reception was busy at check-in but friendly. We got a key and found the room ourselves. The boot and pole room is down a flight of stairs, a bit rough after a long hike, and I don't remember seeing hut shoes. We could take our bags up to the room. The setting is idyllic, about a 20-30 minute uphill walk from Champex-Lac, with a stream along one side and a dramatic view toward Fenetre d'Arpette. It felt like a very luxurious stop for us.
