The recommended wine was so good I returned a few days later to buy a bottle. I had lunch here with a friend and really liked how fresh the food was, with some dishes coming from the little vegetable garden on site. The peaceful setting made the meal even nicer. I'd like to come back.

We loved the pool and the scenery at Bigatt Hotel, and the room was clean and quiet. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast had plenty to set us up for a full hike: bread, pastries, eggs, cheese, meat, fruit, cereal, yogurt and fresh coffee. The staff also provide towels for the pool. Just a heads-up, there was no conditioner in our room. If you're arriving by public transport, check the bus timetable first, since the 434 only runs once an hour on some days. We had a great stay and plan to return.

The view and location are great, but the spaces marked for electric cars were always taken by gasoline cars. Also, after 9 p.m. there was no hot water for a shower.

When the weather's good, it's a real bonus to have a drink or lunch outside, looking out over Lugano from the hillside. The pool is another lovely option, with a view across the vineyards. This small, elegant hotel is my current pick in Lugano, for both work and leisure.

The staff were great, and the rooms were nice. Breakfast was decent, and the location works fine if you're arriving by car. My room got really hot, though, and the air conditioning didn't seem strong enough to cool it. The beds were too soft for me.
