I liked how spacious and comfortable the room was, and the view was lovely. The lobby was spotless and decorated really nicely. The balcony was easy to get to, though it didn’t feel quite separate enough from the neighboring public balcony. Since the rooms have history behind them, I think some artwork or old pictures on the walls could show that off. Still, it’s a beautiful place for a stay with family, friends, or on your own.

Breakfast on Easter was lovely and well organized, and we enjoyed the hotel and the area around Walensee. The room had an industrial look and fairly basic furnishings. It was chilly when we arrived, and the high ceiling meant it took a while to warm up. The receptionist wasn’t there later on, so we couldn’t ask anyone for extra blankets. For us, it felt a little expensive for what we got, even though we enjoyed our stay.

We’d reserved a room six months before a wedding and had the booking confirmed several times, but an overbooking left us in the wellness area instead. It was a large, sterile room set up for wellness activities, and not somewhere we could get a comfortable night’s sleep. The sauna lights couldn’t be switched off, and the shower had no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. All we got was an apology, with nothing done to make up for it. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The Vorwerk had an incredible view of the mountains, lake, and restaurant, and we slept very well in the comfortable room. A couple of pictures, perhaps of the old vorwerk or its workers, would be a nice addition. Breakfast at the sagisteg was excellent, with a lovely view, and the person serving us was just as friendly as the staff who welcomed us when we arrived and left. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and they showed us around and explained the room. We’d definitely return and recommend it to friends and family. :)
