Camping Santa Monica Raron

There’s plenty to do here, with a pool, trampoline, playgrounds, a restaurant and a small supermarket on site. The staff were friendly, and the sanitary facilities were excellent and clean. Our camping spot was spacious, with lots of places to connect to electricity. We had a pleasant stay, though traffic and trains passing through the valley woke us several times at night.

Set in the valley at the foot of the route towards Zermatt/Matterhorn, this campground has friendly staff. The restrooms, showers and dishwashing area are clean and have that modern Swiss feel.

We had a shaded pitch beneath a tree, which was just right for our dog, and the kids had a great time in the pool. The toilets and showers were spotless, and there’s a lovely area for walking dogs. The views are amazing, too. The receptionist was friendly, spoke perfect English and was very helpful. A cable car is only five minutes away, which we all enjoyed. We stayed three nights on our way from the UK to Austria and would definitely return when we explore more of Switzerland.

It’s a lovely campsite, spacious without feeling crowded, with beautiful views all around and cable cars nearby for trips into the mountains. Everything is kept very clean, though the main sanitation building is an older one, different from the picture, and the showers there are rather cramped. If you’re helping your kids shower, expect to get wet. Also, even when it’s over 25C during the day, the nights can still be cold.
