Ambrosia Guesthouse

Our room looked straight out over the local station and tracks, which delighted our two-year-old. Even so, it was remarkably quiet, and I’m sensitive to noise. The building’s insulation seems excellent. The room was comfortable and clean, and the owner went out of her way for our toddler with a case of children’s books and a child-sized dining set. Such friendly hospitality.

A quick trip into Basel was easy from this clean, modern little B&B near the station. There’s a small pizza place right across the street for a simple meal or coffee, too. The room was nicely decorated, and I liked the guesthouse’s attention to sustainability. I’d recommend it.

Getting around was easy, with the old city, trains, and buses all within walking distance. There’s also an excellent underground garage with a convenient curbside area for loading and unloading. The welcome, service, and farewell were all friendly. The newly built place is clean, tidy, modern, and minimal, with everything you need. The beds are a dream, breakfast is great, and coffee and small snacks are available through the day and evening on a trust-the-guest basis. Sole pools and therapy, plus a hairdresser and pedicure, are almost around the corner. Highly recommended.

I booked two nights, but plans changed and I had to leave after one. Nathalie kindly changed the reservation and refunded the unused night in full. I’d found Ambrosia Guesthouse spontaneously, and the host managed to find me a room that same day. It was clean, modern, elegant, and cozy. The town center is an easy five-minute walk, and I enjoyed the little village. I also appreciated the free cup of tea in the evening. It was a great choice, and I’ll come back next time.
