Auberge de Rivaz

The wine was lovely, and I especially liked the eggplant dish 😍 We stopped in for an impromptu lunch and had a great time. The adults were really well looked after, including the vegetarians, and the kids got proper tasty food instead of the usual sad pasta or nuggets. 🍷

We chose the charming restaurant for our wedding reception with 15 people because the dinner was so delicious. The staff set up a beautiful table just for us in a private room, and the service was impeccable. Guled was especially attentive to all our guests. We spent the whole wedding weekend at this lovely hotel, with breathtaking lake or vineyard views from the rooms. From our arrival, the managers made us feel welcome. The elegant interior is tastefully designed, and breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We couldn’t have hoped for a better experience.

The owner's little white dog is adorable, and the dining room is beautifully decorated. We stopped for a quick lunch on the first proper spring-summer day of 2025. It’s hard to find places serving organ meats these days, so I was glad to see them on the menu. My calf's liver was cooked perfectly, and I had it with a good-quality local red. The terrace is spacious, and both it and the dining area have lovely views of the Alps across nearby Lake Geneva. Recommended!

The view and terrace are lovely, and there’s a cute beach nearby. Clarice at breakfast was kind, helpful, and lovely to chat with. But I definitely don’t think the place is worth the high price. Some of the room furniture is newer, which is fine, but the bathroom feels like something from a hostel or one-star hotel. It’s tiny, about one square meter, and claustrophobic. The shower curtain was moldy and dirty, and even the towels we hadn’t used were always damp. Using the bathroom was unpleasant. It badly needs renovating and expanding, or the nightly price should come down. There’s no kettle in the room, either. Breakfast is served on a tray with cheese and ham, four pieces of baguette, and two croissants. It could get repetitive over several nights. I also agree with other reviews that it’s very loud because the hotel is beside a main road and railway. The owner came across as a bit arrogant, too. I asked for a new bar of soap after the cleaning staff took ours and didn’t replace it, and she seemed annoyed and bothered by my request. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on it.
