That peaceful lakeside setting was what I loved most about Casa San Martino in Porto Ronco. My apartment, number 1, opened onto a balcony with a wonderful view straight across Lake Maggiore, and the shared terrace by the water was even better. A private path leads down to the lake, where I spent plenty of time sitting, swimming, or relaxing. The house has three apartments. I only saw the inside of mine, though the other two looked well kept from outside. There was free parking beside the house, and kayaks and stand-up paddleboards were available at no charge, so exploring the lake was easy and fun. I also found a bottle of Prosecco waiting in the apartment when I arrived, a thoughtful welcome. The owners were kind and helpful while giving me privacy, and it’s clear they take good care of the place. Apartment 1 was spacious, modern and very comfortable, with everything I needed to unwind. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, a lovely spot to slow down and enjoy the scenery. The price felt fair for what’s included. I’d recommend Casa San Martino for a calm escape by the lake, and I hope I can return.
