The dining room gets much too hot, and there’s nowhere decent to dry wet clothes. We found the playroom beside the dining area really useful with children. The place was clean, and both breakfast, which was included, and dinner, which cost extra, were good. Our room felt quite small for six people.

The price and service match up perfectly. I’ve stayed at a few five-star hotels and didn’t find a big difference here. The staff are very kind and helpful, like you’d expect from a five-star concierge. It’s also a great place to come for trekking in summer. The scenery looks like a postcard, and you’ll find an international crowd from the art world here.

That kids’ play corner right beside the eating area was a big plus. The parents could actually take a moment for themselves. We had a great weekend at Gstaad Saanen Youth Hostel. The hosts were friendly, welcoming, and professional. Gstaad Saanen is charming, and the mountain views are epic. Lauenensee was stunning too, a recommendation from the hosts. Great vibes all around!

We found the hostel fairly quiet, probably because it was already off season. The rooms have been newly renovated and were clean and cozy. There was always a tasty choice of homemade food at breakfast and dinner, and the staff were welcoming and shared some nice ideas for daily activities. We had a lovely weekend getaway in Saanen, would definitely choose this place again and recommend it.
