Hotel Kristall-Saphir

We had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious; breakfast was just as good, with lots to choose from at the buffet. Monika looked after us, and she was very friendly. The village is quiet, and the ski bus stop right outside makes getting to the main gondola, the Alpine Express in Saas-Fee, convenient. The ride takes about 15 minutes. We stayed three nights. Our room had been renovated fairly recently and was very clean, though the bathroom was a bit small.

Getting around was easy by postbus, and the location worked well for skiing or hiking. We stayed six nights over the Christmas holidays at Hotel Kristall Saphir Superior. The room was clean and very quiet. The four-course dinner was fantastic, and the service was great. It felt like a privilege to stay here.

The people working here were super friendly and helpful, which stood out most to me. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the restaurant was very good too. I stayed two nights in early February 2025 and would definitely come back.

We found the hotel’s position at the entrance to Saas-Almagell especially handy, with village shops and restaurants nearby and easy access to Saas-Fee and the surrounding hiking, biking, and glacier trails. The mountain views from the private balconies were breathtaking, and after a day out, the comfortable beds made for a restful night. Each room had its own character and was spotless and well equipped. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive throughout. They made us feel at home, whether they were suggesting hiking trails, arranging ski lessons, or simply greeting us warmly. The restaurant served tasty traditional Swiss food made with fresh local ingredients. Breakfast had a wide selection, and dinner was a treat as well. From the welcoming lobby, the hotel had a cozy Alpine feel that mixed rustic charm with modern comfort. It's a peaceful place to stay in the Swiss Alps, with its calm atmosphere, good service, and easy access to the area making for a memorable visit.
