Beware! I’ve traveled extensively, but I’ve never felt so scammed, except during a stay in Kenya. The management here is unprofessional. We reserved this villa for four days for $5000, then had to cancel. The hotel encouraged us to cancel so they could rebook it. They did rebook it, as we know because we went there and spoke with the customers, who paid the same amount we had. The staff kept our money and stopped answering calls. They wouldn’t answer Law Enforcement either, and booking.com reprimanded them too.

The apartment and surroundings were great, and it was a good place to stay for the weekend. Still, we were quite sad about how guests are treated. Nobody told us the reception would be completely closed when we arrived. We repeatedly called the number on the door but got no answer, so we had to ring the neighbours to get the front door code. Our apartment key was simply left at reception.

Our family really enjoyed this cozy, spacious studio, about 35 m², with a balcony and kitchenette, and we’d consider it again next time we visit Saas Almagell. It sleeps up to four and has all the necessary amenities, including a microwave, refrigerator, and Nespresso machine, handy for breakfast. Volg is a five-minute walk away and open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You collect the key at Hotel Alpenhof. Swisscom TV and Wi-Fi are available, and in winter you can ski right up to the front of the house.
