Hotel Burgener

For a simple hotel, the room was nice for its category, clean, and comfortable, with very good value for money. There’s no reception at the Burgener itself, but the staff at the nearby affiliated hotel were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant and bar on the premises had a nice selection, a great atmosphere, and friendly staff. It’s ideally placed near all the main lifts up the mountain. Recommended.

The location is super convenient and it’s a nice place for a drink, but the food was really poor, especially for those prices. The only beer on tap was Heineken, and the mulled wine tasted like it might have come from a carton. So, worth stopping by for a drink, just maybe not a beer or mulled wine 😅

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough, though the table was quite small. Breakfast was good, but the breakfast room felt a bit cold. When lots of people shower at once, the water temperature can suddenly swing up and down. For the price, none of this feels unreasonable, and I wasn’t expecting more.

The staff were very kind. Prices felt a little high, though I think that’s normal for this town. I tried the Rusti with cheese and tomatoes. It was nice, but I wouldn’t order that combination again. The Apfelstrudel, on the other hand, was really, really good. Give it a try, it’s worth it.
