The dining area was my favorite, and the massage was worth trying. It was handy being near shops and restaurants, and the hotel shuttle gets you closer to the slopes. The main downside was the bed: the mattress was thin and left my back hurting, and the pillows were too thin to sleep well. Still, I loved the hotel.

The staff really made this stay for us. Reception, the restaurant team, chambermaids and porters were all friendly, cheerful, and happy to stop for a chat or help out. Max from the restaurant deserves a special mention, and the food was superb. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, a gift from our son and daughter-in-law, and had a lovely, large room with a good bathroom and a fabulous mountain-facing balcony. It had everything we needed, from tea and coffee to a hairdryer, wardrobe space, a seating area, mini fridge and personal safe. The mattresses were softer than I prefer, though that may just be personal taste. Spa baskets, bathrobes and slippers were provided. We enjoyed the spa, though the infrared room wasn't working, and we didn't have time to try any treatments. We'd definitely return.

The room smelled bad even with the window open, and the spa seemed to be falling apart. For the price, the value was poor. It also felt like a very old-school hotel.

The food was very good, with generous portions, and the staff paid personal attention and really tried to sort out the bed issue for us. Our Weekend4Two stay was a wedding gift from friends. We arrived to a slightly nicer room with a double bed, two blankets, champagne and fruit waiting for us. Both nights included a four-course meal. We didn't get a chance to try the hotel bar. If you have long, thick hair, bring your own hairdryer: the one provided is weak, and you have to keep pressing the button. We'd happily come back in summer. 👍
