Apart Foresta

Compatsch was a peaceful, traditional place to stay, with the frequent ski bus just a minute or two away. A five-minute ride took us to the cable car, and we barely had to carry our skis on foot. If you're a competent skier, the valley run back brings you within walking distance of Apart Foresta. Alpenquell Samnaun's pool and spa, with saunas and hot tubs, is about two minutes away and made for a relaxing evening visit. There's also a small bakery, Rechsteiner, nearby for fresh breakfast bread and basics like milk and juice. We had a quiet skiing holiday in Samnaun-Ischgl (Silvretta Arena), and Arthur and Vjollca made us feel very welcome. They were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and clearly care about welcoming guests to their beautiful alpine village. The apartment was very clean and exceptionally well equipped for self-catering, with a surprisingly good range of kitchen utensils. Downstairs, there was ski and boot storage, plus a heated boot rack, so our boots were warm and dry in the morning without having to go down to a cellar. Getting to Samnaun from the valley was easy on the local bus, the "Postauto". Changing buses at Pfunds Kajetansbrücke connected us well to trains and airports such as Innsbruck by public transport. Bring Euros in cash for the bus tickets. For travel between Pfunds Kajetansbrücke and the rest of Tirol / Austria, tickets were easy to book through the VVT mobile app.
