This was our second visit to Haus Derby, and we enjoyed our stay again. It has what you need to feel comfortable, with shops and restaurants close by and easy access to the slopes. We’re planning to return!

Samnaun Dorf is pretty quiet, which suited us, though there’s no proper grocery store there. You have to take a bus down to Sennerei Samnaun, a very basic shop, and groceries are very expensive. Alcohol, on the other hand, is very cheap. We had a lovely week skiing in Samnaun/Ischgl, and Haus Derby was clean and practical, with a kitchen that had everything we needed. The sauna was nice even by Finnish standards. Sylvia was extremely kind and accommodating, easy to reach by SMS, and supplied everything from kitchen towels to a fondue set. The ski path is about a 100 m walk from Haus Derby, and it’s an easy ski down to the cable car. In the afternoon, another route lets you ski back down the same path to the house. We didn’t need the skibus, though it’s free and runs fairly often.

Sylvia provided excellent guest service. The apartment is spacious and lovely, right in the center, with a kitchen stocked with everything you need. There’s plenty of room in the ski and boot room, and parking is right behind the house. A great place for a wonderful skiing holiday in Samnaun.
