When we got back that evening, the staff we met were all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate, the beds comfortable, and although the rooms were hot, the fan they provided cooled us down. Breakfast was adequate, but the choice was limited, more of a traditional European spread with cold meats and bread than a British-style hot breakfast. The location is ideal, right next to the station and handy for a day trip to Liechtenstein. Our arrival at 11 am was frustrating. We wanted to leave our six 65L backpacks before taking a bus trip to Liechtenstein, but the woman at reception was extremely rude and unhelpful. She bluntly said we couldn’t leave them and check-in was at 2 pm, as though it was our fault for being slightly early. She didn’t suggest anywhere else for the bags, so we carried them around all day until we spotted a paid locker at the train station.

The staff were amazingly friendly and the location was great. Our only issue was the room stayed cold and never got comfortable. We asked the staff, and they said they were trying to fix it.

The welcome drink at check-in was a thoughtful touch, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. I stayed here as a base for a day trip to Vaduz, with the bus stop only a very short walk away. The train station is nearby too, about a 5-minute walk. I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.

We couldn’t get a good night’s sleep here. The only window faced the back entrance, and we had to keep it open because there was no air conditioning. A tourist bus started up at 6:30 and idled for 15 minutes while its guests gathered, loaded their luggage, and chatted for about an hour. Then it started up again and idled for another 15 minutes. Our room, 102, was just off the dining room, and the door was so poorly insulated that we heard staff setting up breakfast at 6 am and guests heading down the hall for breakfast. The room was extremely hot, and they didn’t have enough fans for us. I asked on arrival if I could borrow an iron for our shirts. They didn’t have one available, but said housekeeping could iron them if we brought them down in the morning. At 7 am, already awake because of the bus, I went to reception and was told ironing our clothes would be difficult.
