Strandhotel Schmerikon

We found the staff very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant served excellent food with a good range of regional products. Children were welcome there too. Our room had lovely, tasteful decor and was practical for a stay with kids, thanks to its small kitchenette. The bungalows open straight onto garden facilities by the lake, and the location is beautiful and exceptional.

The staff are always outstanding, and the restaurant is amazing. The rooms are exquisite too, with fantastic views of Zurich Lake. Enjoy your time here.

We stayed five nights and are planning to return, probably often! The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and both the generous continental breakfast buffet and the restaurant's terrace dining were excellent. From the west-facing rooms and restaurant, the lake views are fantastic. Having dinner on the terrace as the sun went down over the water was glorious. The new bungalow rooms are superb and thoughtfully set up. Ours was really clean, with air conditioning, a private sun terrace and a double-width sun lounger, plus a huge, comfortable double bed. Schmerikon centre is only a short walk away, with a good range of shops as well as train and boat stations.

The hostess kindly helped me charter a boat, and the staff were lovely. I slept well in a comfortable bed, enjoyed delicious food, and could easily walk along the lake.
