The owner, Michael, and his lovely family made us feel like guests in their beautiful home. That was the best part of our four-night stay at Gasthaus Alpenblick in late April, which became the highlight of our three-week European vacation. Our spacious room, number 14, was very quiet, with comfy beds and an incredible mountain and valley view. The shower pressure was even better than at home! Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and included in the room price. We also loved dinner, with perfectly prepared local Swiss dishes and very fresh vegetables and meats. We can't wait to return.

Dinner was so good that we ate at the restaurant two days in a row. The soup, steak, fish, and dessert were all lovely. The hotel is in the beautiful Appenzell region right by Schwende station. Our room was clean, well maintained, and attractive, with a comfortable bed. Great breakfast, friendly service, warm hospitality, and a lovely view. It was amazing and became the highlight of our trip in Switzerland.
