Crusch Alba Ed Alvetern

The team made the long weekend especially memorable by taking such good care of us. It’s a lovely hidden-away place for a few days.

The hike to the local dairy and cheese factory was an experience we won’t forget. We also felt welcomed like family for our two nights in this beautiful setting. The staff were accommodating and attentive, the service was outstanding, and the food was top quality despite the remote location. Thank you!

The staff were very kind and helpful, and the new spa and breakfast rooms are well designed. But the rooms in the annex are simple alpine style, while the prices suggest an upscale stay. The website promises a spa and gourmet menu, yet the actual menu and food were quite different, simple and without much local character or refinement. The place feels caught between those promises and the reality, unlike Crusch Alba of former times.

I found the staff cheerful, attentive, and informative, and the lounge in the main building was cozy. My room was clean, with adequate bedding and a good shower, but the WiFi was so weak it was almost unusable. If the router is in the main building, I’d recommend adding one in Chasura. I stayed three nights in October 2021 in the Chasura building across from the main one. The room was comfortable, though the experience didn’t quite match the upmarket spa hotel I’d expected from the website. The menu was more comfort food than fine dining, which was fine after a strenuous hike, but dinner quality varied. The deer ragu and wienerschnitzel were hearty and very nice. The sliced beef stew had too little meat compared with the spätzli for a price over 30 CHF, and the salmon with basmati rice was overcooked and over-seasoned, also not worth the price.
