Hotel Engiadina

We were close to the modern centre, though the hotel sits in the village's old quarter. The friendly staff were always happy to help. My room paired a wood-heavy traditional style with a very modern bathroom, and everything worked perfectly. It's a small, simple place with little in the way of facilities beyond the daytime tearoom, but the village and surrounding area offer plenty of cultural and sporting activities. I'd stay at the Engiadina again when I'm back in the area.

Breakfast had loads of tasty choices, and the historic building in this historic town made the stay feel special. The rooms were so cute, the staff were lovely, and it felt like home 🥰😍

We loved being able to walk straight out for a stroll or a proper hike, and the included regional transport made longer day trips easy. We often walked out and took a bus or train back. The hotel is in a quiet, lovely spot in lower Scuol old town. We arrived by train and walked, then used the easy bus from the station on our way home. There are no evening meals at the hotel, though they do serve light lunches and afternoon food and cake. Several good restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk away. Vegetarian and vegan choices may be more limited, so it's worth asking for suggestions. The hotel gave us good recommendations and booked a couple of places for us when we asked. Our room was spacious, with beautiful wood details, a very comfortable bed, and local toiletries we liked. It was peaceful at night, though we were there just before summer, so it may be different in peak season. Breakfast was fresh and focused on local food: lovely cheeses, tasty Bircher, and the usual cereal, bread and juices. The carved wooden panelling in the breakfast room was lovely. The host welcomed us warmly and took great care of us throughout. The room and breakfast were both excellent, and we couldn't fault the hotel. One of our favourite holidays, and we're already planning a longer return in 2024.

The staff were exceptional, helping us book dinner and pointing us toward lovely hikes in the region. We were struck by Scuol's beautiful buildings, especially Hotel Engiadina, whose warm rooms have a traditional look. It's right in the heart of Scuol, near the local bus and within walking distance of the mineral spa.
