You’ll need a car because the area is a little remote, but that’s part of its charm. The hotel is in a small, attractive town on a hill overlooking the lake. The rooms were lovely, the buffet breakfast was great, and both the service and price were good. What more can you ask?

My room was extremely hot, with no fan or AC. I wouldn’t recommend it for summer days. The service and staff were very good, though, especially the lady at reception. She’s always smiling.

The restaurant was the highlight for me. I had three different meals there besides the complimentary breakfast, and the food was amazing. Staff service was great too, especially Teresa. The location is fantastic, right beside the bus stop and just a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful Panorama bridge. The rooms and room service were solid as well. I’d recommend it.

The restaurant downstairs seems to be a gathering place for locals, and staying here gets you discounts at local sites and attractions. I only found that out after we already had the room. The room was spacious, the views spectacular, and breakfast was included, delicious, and filling. The staff were really friendly, and the shower had the best water pressure ever. One thing to know is that the charming church bell across the street chimes every hour through the night. There’s also no air circulation, so I plan to look for a fan before sleeping here tomorrow.

We came back to the Bären for dinner, even though we weren’t hotel guests. The waitresses were very friendly and kind. The food was fine, though nothing particularly spectacular, while the desserts were really tasty and worth trying.
