Nira Alpina - Member of Design Hotels

The staff are what really set Nira Alpina apart. They’re warm and proud of their work, and the atmosphere feels polished while still being personal. The train station transfers were seamless, and the hotel has a calm daily rhythm. Its ski-in/ski-out location is directly connected to the Corvatsch tram station, making access to the mountain effortless. Breakfast was exceptional, and dinners at Stars were refined and memorable. Sabrina’s cocktail program was a standout, with beautifully composed drinks that stayed with us long after the last sip. The hotel feels thoughtful, intimate, and impeccably run. A couple of small things could have been better: we’d have appreciated hearing earlier about the pillow selection, and a larger waste bin only arrived toward the end of our stay. Still, it was an exceptional experience, and we’d happily repeat it.

The restaurants are very good, the bar is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly, and the rooms are very clean. It’s ideal for skiing and hiking, and you can reach the cable car to the mountain without leaving the hotel. The spa is well equipped and laid out, but children are allowed in until 5:30 p.m. Some guests don’t seem to respect that children are there and pose naked, without embarrassment, in front of the little boys and girls, who may be shocked. If you want to use the spa with children, avoid it, and please don’t be aggressive toward the child.

Claudia, the general manager, remembered every detail about everyone at the hotel and was thoughtful and caring throughout our trip. Every employee showed real care and customer service. The pickup when our train arrived in St. Moritz was the start of a real treat. We enjoyed eating at Stars and at the Fondue Popup on Wednesday. The massages and spa were excellent, and the staff were responsive and attentive. We could rent gear right next to the hotel, and the front desk arranged a $47 lift pass, making it easy to decide to ski on the spur of the moment. I can’t recommend this place more highly.

We stayed at Nira Alpina over New Year’s, and the ski slope right at the door was the best part. The kids loved the kids club and its staff. The breakfast room has spectacular views of the valley and mountains, and the food was delicious. Every staff member was helpful and friendly, always with a smile.
