The service was the worst part of our stay, and several staff interactions felt openly discriminatory. The room itself was clean and spacious, but my husband and I, traveling with my family on a 30-person tour, did not feel welcome. I’m a Vietnamese American consultant who has stayed in hotels across more than 10 countries. I try to adapt to different customs, but I know what basic professional courtesy looks like. At breakfast, our group was given only 7:00 to 7:30 AM to use the buffet. I understand that a group of our size might need a separate space, but 30 minutes for over 30 people felt unreasonable and rushed. The main dining room, which seemed to have mostly non-Vietnamese guests, didn’t appear to have the same time limit. I felt like we were being hurried through a meal like cattle. At around 7:15, while there was still time in our slot, I asked a staff member for more bananas and yogurt for my parents. They immediately said, “No, no more available,” without an apology, any sympathy, or an offer of another solution. With such a short breakfast window, I expected supplies to last through it. That same staff member used condescending hand gestures, as if I couldn’t speak or understand English. I’m an Asian American immigrant, but after years of studying and working in the US I don’t have a discernible accent, as colleagues and friends have told me. Their treatment was insulting, and even a guest with an accent deserves respect. Another staff member approached my American husband in the buffet line and asked, “Are you supposed to be here? Aren’t you the bus driver for this group?” He said he was on vacation with his family. The staff member turned away without apologizing or acknowledging the assumption, which seemed based purely on his appearance. My husband was incredibly upset. The physical accommodations were good, but the service was abysmal and the staff’s conduct was unacceptable. I hope management reflects on these failures and considers whether a tour group from Europe or America would have been treated with the same disrespect and prejudice.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. After a long day of travel, we were warmly welcomed at reception and even given a voucher for the bar. Later, we enjoyed a very good Amarone in the Weinbar. Absolutely recommend it.

For a work trip, this was a pleasant no-frills hotel. The service stood out: everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was extremely basic, with no refrigerator and just one soap for face, shampoo, and body wash, plus one towel, one washcloth, and one hand towel. If you want in-room amenities, this probably isn’t the place. The water pressure was amazing, something I’ve found common across Switzerland.

On my business trip, I found the rates reasonable by Swiss standards for the good service. The rooms were clean, and the daily housekeeping did a good job. The staff were professional and attentive. The receptionists were especially quick to answer questions and help with unusual situations. Thank you very much! :)
