Moxy Sion

Pedro made my very late check-in feel easy, welcoming me with real warmth and professionalism. The staff were all friendly and professional, and they’re what made the stay especially good. I really enjoyed the generous, tasty breakfast and the inviting shared spaces, where it was nice to unwind or spend time with friends or colleagues. Moxy Sion has a modern look while still feeling cozy. The stylish rooms are thoughtfully laid out and have the usual things you need to settle in comfortably. I had a wonderful stay and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

I found the design modern and attractive, the rooms practical, and breakfast up to standard. But the heating and cooling system was poor. From what I read in other reviews, it underperforms in summer too, and in my winter stay the room stayed too cold. Even with the main control switched off, cool air kept coming in. The shower heads seem to save water by mixing in a lot of cold air and using very little water, which made showering unpleasant even at a high temperature. The coffee machine tucked into a corner is awkwardly placed, and there really should be another one.

Our group of 17 was assigned breakfast from 7:00 to 7:30 because other groups were coming, and we understood the time limit. But right at 7:30, a male staff member wearing a leader pin yelled at us and chased us out. His tone was aggressive and completely uncalled for. It was shocking and deeply unprofessional, and it ruined our stay. Space may be limited, but managing breakfast schedules is the hotel’s responsibility. Paying guests shouldn’t be treated this way. I always thought Switzerland was known for hospitality, but this was the opposite: unacceptable and disrespectful. Whoever that so-called “leader” is could use some basic hospitality training. If that’s how Moxy Xion treats guests, it’s concerning. One star would be too generous.

The people working there were friendly and cheerful, and the price was good. It’s a lively hotel, but it’s showing its age. My room was tired and smelled of cigarettes even though smoking isn’t allowed. The shower dispensers are mounted much too high. There’s no restaurant now, as far as I could tell, though the website still lists full menus. A pity. Breakfast was basic, and thanks to the birds that eat from your hand.
