Hotel Restaurant Möve

The staff are so lovely and make it feel like home. We had our own outdoor terrace looking right onto the incredible Thunersee lake. It felt like a truly authentic stay, and great value for money. An absolute gem.

Our room had a nice view and balcony 😍, and the service was friendly and kind. The room was clean and well looked after, though the bathroom was small and sometimes uncomfortable. The bed was comfortable, but the pillow was awful, basically just full of air with no cushion. Breakfast was very basic and needs improvement. The building has lots of wood and a classic local style, but it’s old, and the smell reminded me of my grandmother’s house. There’s a restaurant area with a nice view, and parking too.

There’s a place to swim in the lake nearby, and the rooms have stunning views. The location is excellent for getting around to the main sights in the area. Staff were very kind and helpful, and parking was free, convenient, and no problem.

The bus stop is very close, but buses in either direction, toward Interlaken or Spiez, only run once an hour, so plan accordingly. Staff aren’t there around the clock, and if you arrive late at night, you may not be able to check in. They seem to work roughly from 6 AM to 10 PM, though that’s common with hotels in Europe. Breakfast was decent, but there weren’t many choices, and I’d have been disappointed if I’d expected what I saw in review photos. The room and property had a very good lake view, and our room was clean and well maintained with nearly everything we expected. Staff were really friendly. They heated our food with a smile whenever we asked, and when we said we’d leave early the next morning, they prepared breakfast for us without being asked. Nothing to dislike, just a few things to keep in mind.
