Hotel Waldhaus am See

We couldn’t think of any negatives and will come again. The place was very clean, and the staff were professional. Our room’s terrace was beautiful, and breakfast was brilliant, especially the views from the large windows. Perfect location, 3 mins from the station and facing the lake.

We had lunch, and the food was good, though not excellent. For 150 euros, I felt it was good value. The service was very good in that classic stiff Swiss way, and the view over the frozen lake was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is an imposing, pretty old building. It must have been a great hotel in its prime, and it still has some charm, but it’s a classic case of faded glory.

I loved waking up to a lake view, and the cozy rooms had the essentials and wonderfully comfortable beds. There was even a backpack in the wardrobe in case you’d forgotten yours. The Alpine Spa is included in the price. It’s not huge, but has a sauna, steam room, pool, and tea area with delicious flavors. Private parking is right in front of the hotel, with a stunning view, and breakfast has a generous mix of sweet and savory choices, from croissants and jams to eggs and cereals. The hotel sits by the lake and near the forest in the heart of St. Moritz, with beautiful scenery and the warmth of a traditional alpine stay. The hotel is lovely and full of character, with distinct areas that each have their own feel. My favorite was the lounge overlooking both the lake and forest, like stepping into a movie. The restaurant has the same enchanting view, making dinner memorable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the owner, Thomas, clearly loves his work. You can see his passion throughout the experience. Wine and whisky lovers will find an impressive, carefully chosen selection. For the quality, the value was outstanding. For me, it was a 5-star stay.

The lake view was the highlight of our nice dinner here during our visit to St. Moritz. The food was good, and so was the service.
