We liked the owner, who was warm and easy to talk to. But the way the breakfast charge was handled left a bad taste. At check-in, when we discussed the price, we were told breakfast was included. In the morning, we were served a continental plate with bread, which was fine. When asked whether we wanted eggs or anything else, we said no, trying to be easygoing. Then at checkout, another 35 francs had been added for breakfast. We were shocked and paid, but it felt like we'd been robbed. The transactions with this hotel didn't feel fair, and sadly we wouldn't stay again.

For Switzerland, the rate was quite reasonable, and the Wi-Fi was included with great internet access. I stayed four nights at Gasthaus Ochsen in late October 2017. It's a small guesthouse, comfortable though a bit spartan. My room was clean and quiet, if small. Recommended.
