We stayed one night in the smart lab with a friend. The room was comfortable and reasonably priced, though the hotel is a little out of the way. It's only two bus stops from the train station. We liked the mirror on the door, but be aware there's a strange window looking into the shower from inside the room. We were really let down by the smart features. Alpha and the sleep robot were both missing and apparently out of service, Alpha for a while and the sleep robot since the day before we arrived. The robot puppy in the picture lit up and made sounds, but its motors didn't work. We didn't try the Lego Mindstorms set, so I can't say whether that worked. The digital assistant wouldn't turn on, and nobody came to check it even though reception said they would. Alexa was set up but wasn't connected, so it couldn't play music or do much else. The remote adjustable bed was the only feature that worked. We wish we'd been told that so many things were malfunctioning, or offered another lab room to try. As advertised, the room was seriously disappointing. The room itself was comfortable and well priced, but in future guests should be told the lab isn't working properly and offered another room or a price reduction.

We were cycling and stayed here for two nights. The bike storage in the locked garage was easy to access, and the staff were cheerful, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is about 1.5 km from Thun station and the city centre, with the lake very close by. It's a quiet area and easy to get around on foot or by bike. The different areas are practical and easy to navigate. Breakfast was good quality and there was plenty of it. There's also a water fountain where you can choose still or sparkling water.

The room design was nice, but ours was dirty, and a strange smell came up from the drains. The staff were friendly and arranged another room, though the place still didn't feel very clean or welcoming. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. There was no complimentary water bottle in the room, just a kettle for making tea or coffee with tap water.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the hotel itself is nice. We could hear noise from the room next door, though, and reception shuts at 9:00 PM.

It was a horrible stay. Our room, 2007, was by the building entrance, and once we could finally open the door, cigarette smoke drifted in from people chatting about 3 meters from our window. There was no air conditioning, so they gave us a fan to make the heat bearable, like decades ago. And the whole thing cost EUR 330/night!!! Terrible experience, we'll stay away. The building feels like an engineering misconcept, with bad design and mediocre quality.
