Ferienwohnungen Fontana

Twann ended up being my favorite stop on the trip. The village feels small and local, with a beautiful old town and vineyards climbing the mountain behind Hotel Fontana. My morning walks there were unforgettable, and the handful of restaurants were lovely, especially with local villagers filling them. There's also a little market just before the old town, stocked with organic fruit and vegetables, local dairy and eggs, soap, wine, everyday food, snacks, and plenty more. We spent one whole day hiking up behind the hotel, past waterfalls and up the mountain to a dairy farm, with amazing views over the bielersee. The hotel is well placed for seeing Swiss cities like Biel, Bern, Geneva, Zurich, and Neuchatel, as well as villages including Interlaken, lauterbrunnen, Murren, and Gimmlewald. The train station is right across from the hotel, and for those driving, there's easy parking and quick access to the highway. We stayed nine nights, and the owner and his wife went above and beyond for me and my friends. Breakfast was there every morning, with fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, tea, coffee, milk, juice, and more. The hotel has a rustic feel, but the beds, sheets, and towels were very clean, and the lobby was well kept. There's a table tennis table in the lobby that we played on every night, plus a little radio and complimentary coffee and tea to make. For backpackers, hikers, or anyone looking for a very reasonably priced place with what you need for days out exploring, Hotel Fontana is a must stay.
