A unique spot surrounded by nature, but overpriced. We were asked to wait for our rooms, and the manager said drinks had been offered to us. At checkout, the staff didn't seem to know about that and charged us CHF 28.80 for the drinks.

The food at the self-service restaurant is good, though the wait can really drag on. Allow time if you're catching a boat. My Käseschnitte (quiche) with salad took at least 20 minutes to arrive.

The portions felt small for the prices, though I really enjoyed the meal. My fried fish cost 38 CHF and was perfectly crispy, and the potato was cooked just right. The cloister salad was 13CHF and wasn't bad. My friend had steak and said it was very good.

Even though it's called St Peter’s island, it's really a peninsula, completely flat and easy to walk around or bike. You can park and take a boat shuttle from the closest point in Lüscherz, or catch the ferry. There's a main restaurant, an easy bistro, and a farm and produce store. I loved docking there and visiting. The place is amazing, with Roman, medieval, and contemporary renovation styles all working together. As an old monastery, it has its own farm and winery, and much of the other produce and products used in the restaurants come from around the lake. If this is a 3 star hotel, it's the nicest one I've ever visited, and I love how self-sustaining it is. Definitely worth a visit. Next time, I'll stay overnight.

It's a quiet, relaxing place for an easy walk, with green grass and cows. The Kloster itself is just a small restaurant, and the service wasn't so good. I couldn't get a drink because the boat was arriving, though people were still staying to eat. Worth a visit, and bring your pic-nic.
