Central Continental Hotel

The room could use a more comfortable bed and more amenities, especially in the bathroom, and there weren't enough power outlets. On the plus side, the receptionists were really nice, the hotel is near the train station, and I was impressed by the breakfast sausage.

The location is the only decent part of this place. They're renovating, yet put me in a room beside the construction site. It was dusty and noisy, and didn't feel safe. The room was supposedly just renovated but still smelled strongly of fresh paint, and there were ants crawling all over the bed. Disgusting. The sink leaked every time it was used. Instead of fixing it or taking the room out of service, staff put a bucket underneath. On weekends, be prepared for drunk people shouting across the bridge all night. I got no sleep or peace, and this place was dirty, careless, and far too expensive for what it is. Not worth it at all.

The only good thing is how close it is to the train station. For the price, my room was creepy, below standard, and unclean. There was no air conditioning, just a fan, and no complimentary items at all, not even a kettle or bottle of water. At night I could clearly hear drunk people shouting and screaming. The hotel had construction areas but didn't tell guests. Some windows couldn't be opened, and others looked straight onto scaffolding. Housekeeping knocked loudly at 9 a.m. to clean the room. Why not use a 'clean the room' or 'do not disturb' tag? I've never experienced hotel service like this. There are other hotels near the station. This one isn't worth the money, and I'd recommend finding somewhere else.

It's handy if all you need is somewhere close to the station, about a three-minute walk away. Beyond that, I was disappointed. The room felt cramped, breakfast had very few basic options, and there wasn't even a kettle. The staff also came across as quite rude. For comfort or good hospitality, I'd look elsewhere.
