The three-bedroom apartment had plenty of space, though it wasn't suitable for someone six feet tall. It wasn't perfectly clean, but it was still clean. At this price in Switzerland, I have no complaints.

We stayed on 24th December, and the owner didn't reply to our messages until an hour before check-in. Since this isn't a hotel, there's no one onsite to help with the booking. The place can be hard to find after dark, so getting there in daylight is safer. Troja restaurant is across the street. The main entrance was open, so we let ourselves in and went upstairs. After getting the lockbox code by WhatsApp, we checked ourselves in; the key box was outside the apartment door. There is just one apartment on the first floor, by the stairs. The apartment was clean, with spacious rooms, good heating and ventilation, and clean towels in each room's wardrobe. The kitchen appliances all worked, including the electric cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster, and toiletries were provided. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling, perhaps because the room has no window, and the exhaust wasn't working either. I hope the owner fixed that after we left. The internet also didn't work, so we used our phone data. The area is peaceful, with a bus stop nearby and a few local restaurants. On the walk to West Interlaken train station, about 12 minutes away, there are pleasant natural views. Nearby lakes and hikes on harder kulm are options. Grindelwald is farther away: the train trip takes over an hour, with a change at Interlaken Ost Station before taking a direct train to Grindelwald Terminal. The trains are packed with tourists in the morning, all heading for snow activities before the sun starts coming up.
There are good restaurants nearby for lunch or dinner, and the ground-floor room I had was spacious enough for three people. It's about a 5-minute walk to Interlaken West station, and there's a kitchen in the room with plenty of utensils, so you can cook. This setup makes sense for a large group. Bus 101 or 106 stops within a minute or less, and bus 21 is about 3 minutes away. In winter, though, the bathroom is ice cold because two of the three heaters were broken. One was in the bedroom, and the owner offered to fix it, which was nice. The shower can flood the entrance if you turn it up too high, so keep it around 1/4-1/2 power. Parking was hard to find when arriving by car. The wifi was awful: move a little after connecting and, voilà, it's gone, like Haodini's magic trick. The owner could also be hard to reach, so get their contact details in advance. The owner only gave me the free travel Guest Card on my last night, at about 9.30 PM, and only after I asked. In 2021 it let guests travel free in Interlaken and some surrounding cities for the duration of their stay. You can imagine how much travel could cost if you don't know to ask. If the owner doesn't provide it, you can complain to the tourism center since this facility is included with the tourism tax. This place has a lot of potential. Fixing the heaters and wifi, and putting information about the free rides on the dining table with the city map at check-in, would make it much better. 3/5
The bathroom smelled of sewer, the tap water wasn't good, and appliances were broken. The owners don't respond, and they didn't give us the tourist discount pass, which cost us a lot in local travel. The worst place I've stayed.
No one met us at check-in or check-out, and no IDs were checked. The shower leaked, its gate was loose, and a chair was broken. There was no dishwasher, washing machine, TV, or WiFi. It was a very bad experience, and I'm not sure the place is safe to stay in.
