We were moved from our booked duplex hotel room to an apartment and told it would suit a family better. We agreed on that basis, expecting a comparable hotel level of service. Only afterward did we find out that the apartment wasn’t cleaned daily. We were told this condition was in the reservation, but it hadn’t been clearly explained when the accommodation was changed. Housekeeping only changed towels and sheets; the floors, surfaces, kitchen, and bathrooms were visibly dirty. When we raised the cleanliness issue, Sharazad, a cleaning lady who said she was the owner’s daughter, lectured us instead of fixing it. She said this was the normal service there, that she had been instructed not to clean daily, and that this was how things were in Switzerland. Reception later confirmed this position. The reduced service level should have been explained before we agreed to move. Saying yes to a room change doesn’t mean accepting lower hygiene standards, especially when that hasn’t been made clear. The dismissive response, lack of accountability, and attempt to excuse poor service as Swiss standards were unacceptable. This doesn’t represent Swiss hospitality. We didn’t get the service we reasonably expected, and our concerns were handled badly. I wouldn’t recommend the property unless management improves how it explains accommodation changes, its housekeeping standards, staff professionalism, and the way guests are treated.

The place is beautiful, and the people are very kind, but the rooms have been horrible every time I’ve stayed. Over the past few years I’ve visited this lodge five times, and the housekeeping has been poor: mold in the bathroom, broken wardrobes, and dirty beds. The food can be good one time and bad another.

The rooms and atmosphere felt five-star, and the views were sensational. We had a lovely pool, beautiful food, and a faultless week at Champoussin Lodge. Max and his team were so friendly and helpful, and you can tell they really care about the hotel. We WILL be back. Thank you!

The spa was in poor shape too: mold in the steam room, a very dirty whirlpool, and an icy cold main pool. In our room, we found mold in the bathroom, hair in the bed, clothes tucked under the covers, and filthy blankets. Clean towels had been carelessly left on the floor and cotton swabs were scattered around. We asked twice for better cleaning, but it still wasn't adequate. The staff were extremely unfriendly. My colleagues and I won't return, and I won't recommend the hotel. There were too many bad impressions, from the poor service to the dirty bedding. It was an unpleasant stay.

We’re already looking forward to coming back to Champoussin Lodge. There are lots of hiking options in the area, and we loved our room, especially the wonderful balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good, and everything about this romantic lodge was fantastic. 😎👍
