Hotel Montriond

The staff were the best part for me. Thierry, the boss, was always around and personally made sure people were comfortable. The whole team was friendly, professional, and efficient. Margot and Enzo deserve a special mention for being such good fun and going out of their way, though everyone made us feel welcome. We had a lovely stay. Ski access is about as good as it gets: fully ski in, ski out, and the resort’s road setup made it easy to bring the car to the door. The hotel was recently refurbished, and everything was in great shape, nicely done. There’s a small bar and plenty of cosy corners for an aperitif or a cheeky Picon biere. We were half board. The food was plentiful and good quality, especially breakfast. Dinner was well prepared and varied, with lots of local produce and some good wines. The local Merlot was surprisingly good. If you get the chance to have dinner at the Chaudron in the Polaris, it’s a great experience, from the special journey to the excellent food. For the price, this is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, and I couldn’t fault anything. Even the kids said the Wi-Fi was good. I can easily see us coming back, maybe in summer.
