Breakfast had great omelettes and pancakes. The hotel sits on the main road, close to everything, though the rooms facing the mountain on the inside are quieter. I missed having a lounge to relax in. You’re either in your room or at a restaurant table, which made it harder to meet people while traveling alone :)

The shuttle was a bright spot, with a helpful, friendly driver, and the location is great. The rest of my summer visit felt distinctly average, including the service. My room was dirty, and the whole hotel seemed tired. There’s no air conditioning, breakfast was average, and parts of the hotel weren’t open or set up for summer.

Getting around is easy from this very central hotel, with the village center, shops, market, and restaurants all within walking distance. The multilingual staff are kind and helpful, and the rooms are amazing. Breakfast is excellent, too. They have a shuttle car that will take you anywhere in the village free of charge. You really don't need to look further.

The spa was a highlight, with an excellent steam room, sauna, ice bath, and hot tub in a great spot. Booking the facilities ahead meant a quieter experience, though it took a bit of planning. For skiing, you can take the bus, walk a short distance, or use the hotel shuttle to get to the lifts. The Experimental Chalet team made everything easy from booking through departure. They sorted parking and ski passes, helped with rentals, and were always happy to give us a lift or provide extra service. The rooms were spotless and well equipped. Breakfast was wonderful, and the small team really made an effort. Beautiful hotel, excellent location, great facilities, and friendly, helpful staff. Can't recommend it more.
